# SOLORO — Licence & Rights

Copyright © 2026 Ari Melenciano. All rights reserved except as expressly granted below.

SOLORO is two things at once: a recorded album, and the software instrument through which it is
heard, remixed, broadcast and danced in. They are licensed **differently and deliberately**. Read
the part that applies to what you want to do.

---

## Part A — The Album and the Work

**All rights reserved.**

This covers:

- the SOLORO album — the 60-minute soundscape and every part of it, in any form, including any
  stem, slice, movement or excerpt;
- the visual identity — the SOLORO and *club SOLORO* names and marks, the typography, the colour
  system, the dancefloor, and the design of the interface as a composition;
- all written text — this document, the manual, the site copy.

You may **listen, remix inside SOLORO, broadcast your mixes and your movement to SOLORO Radio and
the dancefloor, and share links to soloro.ooo**. That is what the site is for and no permission is
needed for it.

You may **not**, without prior written permission:

- redistribute, re-upload, or host the album audio anywhere else, in whole or in part;
- release, sell, stream, or distribute derivative works made from the audio outside SOLORO;
- use the audio in a film, advert, game, installation, or other production;
- train a machine-learning model on the audio;
- use the SOLORO name, marks, or visual identity to present a work as SOLORO or as endorsed by it.

Remixes you make **inside** SOLORO and broadcast to SOLORO Radio are covered by Part C.

For any licensing request — sync, commission, exhibition, press use of the audio — contact
**AriMelenciano@gmail.com**.

## Part B — The Software

The software is **source available**, not open source. You are welcome to read it, learn from it,
and take ideas from it. You may not stand up a competing copy of it.

This covers `index.html`, everything under `api/`, `tests/`, `tools/`, and the configuration files.

**You may:**

- view, download, study, and modify the source for **personal, educational, or research** purposes;
- run a modified copy **privately** — locally or on a private server not open to the public;
- quote portions in writing, teaching, or criticism, with attribution;
- take techniques and ideas you learn here into your own independent work.

**You may not, without prior written permission:**

- deploy this software, or a substantial part of it, as a **public or commercial** service;
- redistribute it as your own work, or under another name;
- remove or obscure this licence or the copyright notice in `index.html`;
- use the SOLORO name or marks in anything you deploy or publish;
- sell it, sublicense it, or bundle it into a product.

**Attribution.** Where you publish, teach, or write about work derived from this source, credit:
*SOLORO by Ari Melenciano — soloro.ooo*.

**Contributions.** If you send a patch or pull request, you licence it to the author under these
same terms, and confirm it is yours to give.

**No warranty.** The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or
implied. The author is not liable for any claim, damage, or other liability arising from it.

## Part C — What visitors make

SOLORO is participatory. Visitors record dances, build scenes, and broadcast remixes. Those
contributions are governed here.

### What you keep

**You keep the rights to your own contribution** — your recorded movement, your arrangement, your
broadcast. You are not signing it over.

### What you grant

By recording a dance, saving a scene, or broadcasting a remix, you grant the author a
**non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence** to store, display, perform and stream that
contribution **as part of SOLORO** — on soloro.ooo and in documentation of the work (screenshots,
video, press, exhibition). This is the minimum needed to actually show your dance to other
visitors, which is the point.

This grant does **not** extend to selling your contribution separately, licensing it to third
parties, or using it outside SOLORO and its documentation.

### What is recorded

**Only skeletal motion data** — a series of joint positions. The camera feed never leaves your
device. No video, photograph, or image of you is uploaded or stored, ever.

### Public by default

Recorded dances and broadcasts are **visible to everyone** who visits. Don't contribute anything
you wouldn't want public.

### Removal

Email **AriMelenciano@gmail.com** to have your dance, scene, broadcast, comment, or consent record
removed. Requests are honoured.

### Other people's contributions

Other visitors' dances and broadcasts belong to them, under the same terms. You may experience,
arrange, and remix them **inside SOLORO** — that is what the dancefloor and the B-side are for. You
may not extract, redistribute, or reuse them elsewhere.
